The Trenfield Family

Yvonne and Mal with their little son Bailey came into The Photo Studio to get some fun and funky family shots done. They had never had any kind of family portraits done before, and were eager to get some pictures taken with Bailey at a young age.


Yvonne tells us that she was really surprised at "how much fun" the whole experience was, with she and her husband, as well as Bailey all having a blast. A lot of this might be due to Rosie, our brilliant family photographer, who seems to have a knack in getting the best pictures from young children while simultaneously keeping them having a good time. According to Yvonne, Rosie was "really wonderful with Bailey, she kept him interested the whole time", and you can really see the fun that he's having in these beautiful images.


It looks like Rosie even got Bailey to do some reading while they were there! Bailey's cheeky grin and bright eyes light up this series of family portraits, and we love the joy and energy that Rosie has captured with the camera. Mum and Dad aren't left out either, as Rosie snapped images of each of them with Bailey, and together.

The White Family

Congratulations to the White Family, our newest family photo shoot of the week! Kimberley and Richard came into the studio with their adorable daughter Keira. Kimberley is also due in April and lit up the studio with all the glow of an expectant mother.

Rosie, our family photographer, enjoyed photographing the mischievous energy of two year old Keira. Her joyous smile and tangle of bright curls brought a lot of fun and laughter to the studio, playing around with a basketball and even pouring a watering can all over her daddy's head!



Keira took center stage, the little model in the making taking over The Photo Studio to strut her stuff in front of our trademark pure white background. With this collection to start off her portfolio, we have no doubt we'll see Keira on the catwalks of Paris and Milan before too long!

Dr Katrina Warren and the 'Space Buddies' Puppies

Everyone's favourite family vet, Dr. Katrina Warren, dropped by our studio to have some pictures taken with the Space Buddies pups. Dr Katrina has been a favourite in Australia since Totally Wild and Harry's Practice graced our screens, and it was a lot of fun to get her and five rambunctious golden retriever pups in the studio for some fun and frivolity.


Space Buddies is the third movie in the popular Air Buddies series by Disney, in which, as the title suggests, the group of pups smuggle themselves onto a spaceship and blast off into space. The movie proved so popular, that a fourth movie Santa Buddies, was just made for Christmas 2009.

As well as Space Buddies, The Photo Studio is currently shooting some promotional pictures for another Disney feature, G-Force, a live action 3-D 'spy-fi' comedy about a group of FBI trained secret agent animals. The film features Sam Rockwell, Penélope Cruz, Jon Favreau, Steve Buscemi, Nicolas Cage and Bill Nighy. Stay tuned to this blog for more info and pictures as they become available!

The Nguyen Family

Hi everyone, happy new year and welcome to our first entry of 2010! We'd like to kick off the new year with our favourite new family, the Nguyens from Westmead.
Sara and Quan came along to our studio with their two adorable children, Toby, 3, and little Lilliana, who is just a few months old, but already knows how to work the camera.



Rosie loves working with families and little ones, and coaxing photo friendly faces from little (and big!) kids is her specialty. She says she loved photographing the Nguyen family, it was a very calm, relaxed shoot, and a lot of fun too!

Sara really enjoyed the experience as well, and she asked us here at the Family Album to stress that Rosie was AMAZING! But as Rosie says, it's easy to capture what's in front of the camera, and the love of the Nguyen family and the fun they were having on the day is plain to see.

The Ellis-Spiker family are our first 'family shoot of the week'!

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming the Ellis-Spiker family into our studio for a full family photoshoot. Duncan, Toka and little Samber all got into and mucked around in our trademark white studio for a series of great pictures.


Rosie, our family photo shoot expert and studio manager, was on hand, getting right down on the floor with the family and into the spirit of the fun, spontaneous shoot. Toka and Samber's bright reds and greens, and Duncan's black t-shirt, came out looking fantastic against the studio's trademark white background. We like to remind our clients to come in with a range of bright fun clothes, it really makes the photos stand out!


As can be seen above, The Photo Studio offers mock up room sets to show what your photos could look like on display.

We also offer great combinations, like the five block above, that look absolutely gorgeous on display in a living room or office.

Glebe's 150th birthday celebrations are finishing up in just a couple of days, so if you haven't yet, make sure you check out the outdoor photography exhibits. The large outdoor portraits, taken by Tom Psomotragos and our own North Sullivan, have been printed out on 1600mm x 1000mm canvas sheets and displayed throughout Glebe for the month. Hurry though, you only have a couple more days to tour the 'Glebe outdoor gallery' before the pictures come down on the 28th of November.

The Photo Studio's weekend of baby and family photography

The Photo Studio spent the weekend at the Baby Show, which ran from the 18th to the 20th of September at the Royal Hall of Industry, Moore Park. North and the crew were there to set up their famous white mobile studio to capture all the fun and excitement of the weekend. Families were lining up around the block for a chance to get a high quality print of themselves with their baby, and the Photo Studio didn't disappoint, delivering classic pictures for the families to treasure.

The Baby Show was also a 'baptism of fire' for one of the Photo Studio's newest photographers, Rosie Joyce. Rosie jumped right into it, delivering more than 170 stunning images over the course of the weekend, and had a lot of practice at making her subjects smile. She puts her success down to "tickles and squeaky toys". Rosie is joining the team to specialise in family and kids photo sessions, although she'll keep her hand in with everything that the Photo Studio can throw at her.

Every picture that we took entered the family into the draw to be declared 'the Face of the Baby Show'. The winner will receive an hour long fun-filled magazine style photo shoot for the whole family, plus four fine art prints of their choice from the session, valued at over $1,200. Stay tuned, the winner will be announced soon!

But it's not all babies and family portraits here at the Photo Studio. Later this week, North and the crew are heading up to photograph the promotional pictures for Emirates' new luxury resort in the Blue Mountains. Located in Wolgan Valley, adjacent to the greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, the resort is opening in October of 2009.
